How We Turn Slow Landing Pages Into Conversion Engines: Our Website Playbook
Paid traffic is wasted when the page it lands on is slow, unclear or hard to use on a phone. This is the process we use to build and fix landing pages so more of your ad spend turns into enquiries.
About this playbook: this page describes how we approach landing pages and website conversion. It outlines our method, not the results of any one client.
The symptom: good ads, weak pages
The ads get clicks, but few visitors enquire or buy. Often the ads aren't the problem. The page loads slowly on mobile, the offer is buried, and the form asks for too much. Every second of delay and every extra decision costs conversions you already paid for.
Step 1: Measure before redesigning
We start with facts: real-user speed data, Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP and CLS), where visitors drop off, and how the page performs on a mid-range phone over a mobile connection, since that is where most paid social traffic arrives.
Step 2: Fix speed first
Serve correctly sized, modern-format images and lazy-load anything below the fold.
Remove or defer scripts that block rendering, including unused tags and widgets.
Preload the hero image and key fonts so the first screen appears quickly.
Reserve space for images and embeds so the layout doesn't jump.
Step 3: One page, one job
A landing page should have a single goal. We match the headline to the ad that sent the visitor, state the offer and the next step above the fold, and remove navigation and links that lead away from the goal.
A clear headline and a plain-language subheading
Proof that fits the offer: reviews, logos or a short video from a real customer
A short form that asks only for what you truly need
A call to action that says what happens next
Step 4: Design for the thumb
We design for mobile first: readable text without zooming, tap targets big enough to hit, and forms that use the right keyboard for each field. Then we scale up to desktop, not the other way around.
Step 5: Test one thing at a time
Once the basics are right, we run structured A/B tests on headlines, offers, form length and social proof. Each test has a hypothesis and a stopping rule, so we act on real differences and not on noise.
Step 6: Track everything that matters
Conversion tracking wired to the ad platforms, with the Conversions API where it applies
Form and call tracking, so every enquiry is attributed
Conversion rate and cost per lead by traffic source and device
What working together looks like
Audit: speed, mobile experience, message match and tracking.
Build or fix: the fastest path to a page that loads quickly and states the offer clearly.
Launch and measure: tracking verified before any budget is pushed to it.
Iterate: a steady cycle of tests, reported in plain language.
